  1. Okay thanks What about using the isolator board with sparky and USBridge
  2. Okay thanks What about using the isolator board with sparky and USBridge
  3. Hi Wanted to know if I can use the Allo battery pack to power the USBridge HAT? The sparky would be powered separately Also will using the isolator board with the USBridge HAT give any improvements? TIA
  4. Finally managed to make USB cable with no voltage + connection with the help of a close friend who is very good with making cables For me it surely sounds better then before, can hear more into the music The difference again is not night and day but enough to hear a difference
  5. Cut the + 5v and DAC gets detected perfectly. No issues So now I at least know with my DAC I need the ground to be connected for the DAC to be detected by host PC Thanks again for your help
  6. Thanks @mansr and others I will do as advised and update on the thread
  7. First of all thanks for your reply My DAC has cmedia cm6631a USB interface so it's a USB 2 high speed So I will try to experiment connecting ground with DC male and female pins so I can disconnect it later on How can I connect only 5 volt plus to any external PSU? TIA
  8. Tried connecting voltage + and - to an LPSU but still DAC is not detected Need to connect the USB header having voltage + and - to PC , then only DAC gets detected Not sure what to make of this
  9. I disconnected the 5volt + line and everything worked fine but the moment 5 volt (-) is disconnected the dac is disconnected from windows So does that mean dac needs to see a ground to function? Sorry for asking another dumb question, what happens when the laptop is running by battery and power brick completely disconnected ? Is there no ground to the laptop?
  10. Thank you guys I will use a LPSU to give 5 volt feed. That for now looks most sensible option
  11. I made my current USB cable into a dual headed USB cable with the help of my friend One connector has the Data + and - connections and other Voltage and its ground But the moment i remove the connector carrying voltage my DAC is disconnected from windows. So does that mean my DAC needs constant voltage even after hand shake? My DAC is a Burson Conductor having a C-Media USB interface Or is it that i just have to disconnect the voltage ground, but even doing that will make the circuit incomplete I am a little confused so want help from members who have tried this trick Will it be a good idea to connect the second USB connector carrying voltage and its ground to a linear power supply ? Lastly with this modification is a USB regenerator / reclocker like Uptone / W4S recovery advised to be used between PC and DAC? TIA
  12. What is the recommended power supply to be used ? And can the dac baord be powered separately I had read Allo is also designing a LPS Is it true?
  13. Thank you so much sir for making us understand the technicalities It was surely an eye opener for me So the preferred connection should ideally be the network input for streaming of data with the way it's implemented
  14. Sorry did not read question properly before The NB I think has no usb input for audio so ethernet is the best way to make it work it with the innous
  15. My bad Yes so I am also very keeb to hear from him
  16. Hi Chris As usual well done review So essentially this can be a uogarde to sms200s and micro renedu? Agree that it can breathe some much needed life Into a old dac which sounds very good till date Any idea if the data got from the ethernet input is reclocked
  17. Do laptops have same noisy dc/dc converters ? If yes then what would kind of computer would be best for audio for someone who can't spend big bucks on music servers or likes of it
  18. Yes not much horsepower needed when playing audio files as it is Anything cd resolution and being upsampled to DSD resolution needs lots and lots of cpu power At times even 6th gen i7 struggle to do upsampling to DSD 512
  19. Not sure if it still gets firmware updates but the marantz na11s1 is good network streamer cum very good dac and supports unpn /Dona Has a screen too but I guess not too easy to browse through tracks but has a remote app Built like a tank and top notch components
  20. Still a surprise By the way just gave the mentioned regen to a friend who has a northstar dac and some mid range audioquest cable He uses Mac mini as source with audirvana software He did find the ususal improvements with sound when he used the regen between dac and macmini In his words the changes were subtle but still a positive change. So the regen is working and has. K issues for sure
  21. Yes Got it wrong and thought there is some serious discussion about nystagmus, hence posted about my issue But that's fine , all is ok
  22. Yeah he won't mind But to be frank he always knew I won't be the one who will buy the cable from him so he was in no way wanting me to try it out so I can purchase it Anyways have invited another good friend of mine to validate my claims as he has a good ear and has been into audio as a hobby since many more years then me
  23. Hi As far as I see I don't see it being damaged in any way that it should malfunction Still , it was packed in its original box plus a box more with foam. Yes the USPCB adapter was what I was thinking to connect the regenerator to the dac. Right now I am using the DIY usb cable between regen and dac. Even flipping the cables don't change the sound by much From pc to regenerator - DIY usb cable From regenerator to DAC - VUE usb cable Still using vue cable direct from pc to dac sounds way better
