Can I use the N200 USB & coax digital outputs at the same time? Linestage could switch between the DACs for different music. Thanks, Doug A The N200 sounds far better than I thought possible. Amazing quality.

Thank you @AurenderAmerica for answering these questions. The N200 sounds amazing and has become the cornerstone of my system. Thought it would sound better than the Oppo BDP 105, but I didn't realize how much better. Thanks, Doug A

Want to add some new albums to the Aurender N200 internal Samsung 4t SSD. Am I supposed to shut the N200 down before hooking up the portable external hard drive they are stored on? Do I have to shut down before unhooking the portable hard drive? I have only been turning the N200 off for stormy weather. Can the N200 delete tracks from the Samsung 4t internal memory? If not, do I have to hook a laptop up to delete files? Thanks, Doug A

Is this update for all users or only for beta tester? My N200 is only a few weeks old and has been unplugged the last two days to avoid storms. I'm not a beta tester. Should I leave it unplugged until Aurender fixes the update? Thanks, Doug A

Thanks for the Samsung recommendation. No one recommends the Samsung 870 EVO? Thought the longer life and higher performance would win out over the QVO? Thanks, Doug A

After months of researching used N100 and new N150, I bought a new Aurender N200. My 1st streamer and totally unexpected. I have set up a mesh extender for a wired Ethernet connection. Thanks @The Computer Audiophile and @AurenderAmerica for the excellent tutorials. Hope everything else goes as smoothly. Now I have to get Samsung EVO 870 internal memory. 4tb is plenty to start with. Should I use two 2tb or one 4tb? Would I know the Aurender is switching between two drives? Are counterfeit drives as common as SD cards? Can't wait until the N200 arrives. Thanks, Doug A

Yes. I know it will sound better using internally stored files. May take some time to gather the Samsung SSD, audiophile USB cable, and Wi-Fi adapter. Thanks, barondla

The Aurender N150 has a drawer to install HDD or SSD. My understanding is external hard drive files can be copied to them. Internal HDD/SSD aren't required for streaming Tidal or Qobuz. Are they required to play music from an external drive? Trying to figure out if a Samsung 4t SSD is required to begin with. Thanks, barondla

Do Aurender need an internal memory drive to play files from an external hard drive? Thanks, barondla

Leaning towards a new N150. There are lots of power outages in Midwest, USA. I try to unplug the system during a storm, but can't always. The super capacitor will help guard against a corrupted drive. Aurender can fix many problems remotely. Do they have US repair for mechanical problems? Thanks, barondla

I 'm looking for my first streamer. For the last ten years I've been playing files from a hard drive connected to an Oppo 105. My dac is an Ayre Codex. The only digital connection they have in common is toslink. I'm using a DL Labs Glass Master cable. Recently I tried hooking a 17" Dell Inspiron to the Ayre via generic USB cable. It sounds better to me. Now I'm looking at an Aurender to use with the Ayre. First thought was a used N100. The Conductor app sounds simple to use and Aurender has great sound quality. A review stated that the N100 didn't sound great with his Ayre QB dac. I see many people using the two together on this forum. Anything to worry about? Also considering an used A10. I probably wouldn't use the built in dac. Does it outperform the N100 thru the USB output? The stereophile review had numerous problems with applying MQA filtration to files that weren't MQA. Did Aurender ever fix this? The A10 also comes with a remote. Why doesn't it just use the Conductor app on a phone or tablet like their units Thanks for reading this and helping, Roon and MQA don't matter at all. Doug A

How many are still using their PonoPlayer?
Doug A replied to Doug A's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
Great idea pinecone. Definitely provides protection for the USB connector. As a side note your yellow finish seems devoid of the orange discoloration that many develop. My yellow has started to turn orange in spots. Thanks for sharing, Doug A -

@Charles C yes it is bad for lithium batteries to sit around empty. Cycling PonoPlayers also helps to reform capacitors. To save the micro USB port I run a small USB cable to a battery power bank, when at home. When it needs charging, I unplug the cord from the bank, leaving the small "tail" hooked to the PonoPlayer. Less wear and tear on the USB port. I see so many ports go bad on phones. Thanks, Doug A -

All 4 of mine are still working. I try to rotate their use to keep batteries and everything up to snuff. Thanks, Doug A -

@KevinC I've never made a computer playlist and transfered it to the Pono. I rarely do playlists, so I just make them using the PonoPlayer. You may already know this. 1. Load all the songs you want the the memory card. 2. Press and hold song, menu pops up. 3. Select Add to Playlist. 4. 2nd menu pops up, select Create New. Keep doing this until you have playlist completed. To add songs to an existing playlist, at step 4 (Add to Playlist) select desired playlist. Song order can also be moved up, down, and removed. The one thing you can't do is name playlists. The player automatically numbers them. Enjoy, Doug A
