  1. I see this is quite an old thread now, dating back 6 years since the last post. I have the ANK 4.1 Limited Edition, the latest version which has the 5.1 digital board, I believe. Having read through all this I’m debating whether I should upgrade my DAC 4.1, or, just replace it with the 5.1 or some other DAC? I thought I’d just replace my teflon bypass caps with Deulund, upgrade the power supply and swap out the IV transformers for the Sowter versions. I’d certainly appreciate your input! Was it worth upgrading the 4.1, is it still, or, are there better alternatives? Thanks, John
  2. If I purchase a Singxer SU-6 for my Aries G1 streamer, will I be missing anything if I choose to use a USB2 cable, instead of a USB3 cable?
  3. Does anyone know how the Denafrips Gaia compares to the Mutec MC3+USB, primarily with BNC/AES connections?
  4. What, then, at this time, is the most practical purchase option, which is the best bang for the buck?
  5. My streamer has an AES output, would be a nice feature if the reclocker had this input. I know Mutec is working on a new model; perhaps it’s best to wait until its release? The only down side is that with parts shortages, everything is skyrocketing price wise.
  6. P.s. are there currently any better reclockers available, better than the Mutec?
  7. Greetings everyone, I’ve been deliberating about updating my Remedy reclocker with the Mutec MC3+usb, until I discovered the price of the Mutec has increased, due, from what I understand, to limited parts availability. So, before I commit to a purchase, I’m wondering if anyone can tell me how much of an improvement in SQ I would hear, going from the Remedy to the Mutec? Any and all responses appreciated. Thanks, John
  8. I have the volumio plugin for Spotify, but, Spotify doesn’t appear in my browse library. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, John
  9. Hello everyone! I’ve been listening to my Allo Signature via Volumio, from my IPad. In listening to Spotify, I use airdrop, within iPad, to link with Volumio. What I noticed is that the sound quality is not on par, when listening to Spotify, as compared with web radio, paradise radio and the like, within Volumio. Is there some way to improve the SQ of Spotify? Thank you, John
  10. My interest is piqued; what, may I ask, is a Shanti? Thank you, John
  11. Very clever, Tom and nicely implemented ....
  12. Hello everyone & I've added a Wyred 4 Sound, Rememdy Reclocker to my Allo Signature and am happy to report that the results are quite impressive: in my system, web radio and Spotify sound holographic the majority of time. The Rememdy Reclocker converts everything to 24/96 khz. Before the addition of this device, the sound was mostly flat and lifeless; now, there's a 3d quality to the sound, as if it now lives and breathes - is an absolute joy to experience (at least in my setup). I highly recommend this upgrade if you're serious about your digital stream!
  13. Hi, Rod & I'm using a Sansui TU-9900. I recapped and modified the tuner quite a bit and at times and depending on the material, it sounds holographic; only the TU-X1 is considered better. The Signature sounds cleaner than the Sansui, but is less three dimensional, is lacking in body (sometimes sounds sterile if the recording is poor quality); but, as I explained, the Signature reaches higher and lower. I need to feed the Signature a high def recording, see how that goes by comparison. Overall, I'm pleased with the outcome. If I switch out the 10uf for the 47uf, I will keep you posted. Thanks, John
  14. Hi, Rod & I'm glad the new Class D voltage regulator is working so well for you. As you know, I'm using it, as well, but have nothing else to compare it to. My digital system sounds good - it lacks some of the three dimensional body that I get with my hot rod Sansui tuner, but, now I can hear the short comings in my tuner - it's noisier and is more limited at the frequency extremes, as compared to the new digital streamer. I'm hoping that when I get a chance to change the raspberry setup and access higher resolution recordings that this will be the ultimate prize - time will tell. I've checked and my supercap is rated for 12v and I'm powering it with 9v and so well within spec. I checked the operating temp and it's just above room temperature at 74.8 degrees; so, I think it's fine. Thank you for the heads up, though. I'm thinking of switching out the 10uf cap, on the output side, to a 47uf cap that I have; will see. And, you're welcome, Rod, glad I could to be of some help - I certainly appreciate the help you've given me! Thank you, John
