  1. Was the album of the morning, to be honest, listening while enyoing a nice cup of tea (Darjeeling, Selimbong, first flush). Life could be worse..
  2. 5 October, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Ivan Fischer, Schubert 3 and Bruckner 9 (the concert starts at 16:00, before the concert, we are having tea at Rausch, it's still a matter of discussion where we will dine, luxury problem, I'm afraid).
  3. Nothing beats a live performance (I think...). I am always in awe with the sheer musicianship of the performers. Ans you ' feel' the music. Listening to a recording, or seeing how it's done, it is a totally different experience. Listening to my favourite Bach, imho a pretty good recording:
  4. We have seen & heard the Tord Gustavsen Trio this evening. Their new album is not out yet, but you could buy a pre-release... the music was marvellous, the beer was yum, we had a lovely evening, and I bought the disc... I could not resist... (You had to queue if you wanted to buy a disc or vinyl...)
  5. Tomorrow evening: Darius Brubeck. First the movie Playing The Changes, then a Q & A with Brubeck and Michiel ten Kleij (director of the movie), and finally the concert.
  6. No, the usb-version (mc3+ usb). I started with Aries G1 (now using G2).
  7. For what it's worth, I use a MC3 with a Auralic Aries, it was definitely an improvement. I use MC3 in our speaker setup, and in my head-fi setup (in my head-fi setup is also a REF10 nano). Improvements was significant (aas always: my gear, my ears, YMMV).
  8. This is a beautiful album from Gillian Welch and David Rawlings...
  9. I have always bought the music I liked. Since a few years, I have a Qobuz subscription, but I still buy music, being it CD (PeterG, I am with you), or files. Streaming gives you so much music, that you forget to listen, you are just browsing (nothing wrong with streaming, I like it, but the ritual of saving money for the (f.cking XXX) expensive black disk, buying the LP and sharing it whit your friends is lost). As always, feel free to disagree, and let's keep sharing good music. Happy listening!
  10. Listening to this lovely album while sipping a lovely Darjeeling First Flush (Aimard, Schubert, Landler):
