go for it Irish, NOTRE DAME beat up on Purdue yesterday. IF, if you are going to hear a difference in clock cables, Upgrade your clock. I found the NANO to make a significant difference. I am also running a a room correction system. If you want to put your nuts on the line, go for MUTC reference series.

Again, I am not the cable expert. LAN cable is better for transfer of data, IMHO. After that, you gotta figure it out. wink.

HI Simon, I am not sure about Clock cables. They should be pretty standard if executed properly. It is really more about the length, termination and overall impedance. Alex will correct me if I wrong. I chose a particular Belden clock cable because was more flexible for my particular situation. I am running both 75 and 50 ohm Belden cables. Pretty cheap, pretty basic, effective. Optical cables may make difference, not sure yet. I am running AOC. I have not tested multiple modules, and do not feel a need to. I do have a couple around but system performance is good. The biggest difference I have heard in cables: balanced vs single ended analog cables. I ALSO have some high end power cords and filtration. I am not a Shunyata dealer anymore, but I still use their stuff. There is a guy that posts here that has a pretty good ear and uses some of the same products. I think he is Philly or Philadelphia. Cheers, J

UpTone JS-2 Power Supply Listening Impressions
JayDog replied to Audioclyde's topic in UpTone Audio (Sponsored)
Superdad, you are saving me from buying more solar panels. -
Yes, exactly the same for me. Technical perfection is not my specialty. I agree with you completely. The ER 1 is amazing. Once you lock it with a precision clock, it goes to another level. The ER is amazing. The clock plays a major role, hopefully my Mutec will not be extinct with the new design.

Someone chimed in a few post ago. It does take 3 months or so for Nano to reach max. potential. Someone posted that let the nano burn in for a couple of months. I am in agreement with that post. I know nothing about stabilization of clocks or German precision.

@davide256 gave me good feedback on adding an external DAC to the Lyngdorf TDAI-3400. I think he has a very good streamer working with his set up, if I remember. I was running the LAN directly (plus the clock and Etherregen) into the Lyndgdorf prior to using the R26. Now feeding the R26 with the clock/Ethergen combo and running that via XLR into the Lyngdorf. Using relatively cheap Mogami/Neutrik balanced cables from the R26 to the 3400. Took a bit get focused. I ran the combo through the night and most of the day. About 2 weeks before everything settled in and opened up a bit. I am pretty impressed. Really thought Lyngdorf would have had this nailed within their unit. Nice thing about the Gustard, there is a light audible difference between their filter selection.... fast, medium, slow. My main concern is the remote. It is no longer working. Not a big deal. Maybe I should buy the Amazon extended warranty, since it is built in China? I never buy them, but my watch down after a trip and apple care covered it, with 2 months left.

Lynghdorf TDAI-3400-- external DAC/DAC-streamer ?
JayDog replied to JayDog's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
I have one week with the Gustardr 26 at this time. I was not expecting too much, as it is an all-in-one-box. I ran into the ADC unit with Mogami cables. I used Alexs' recommendation for a 50ohm clock cable which is stiff as hell. There is a substantial increase in performance. After 2 weeks, I will run the Gustard with the internal clock to see if there is a difference. My best guess is that the Mutec is making a contribution as this DAC is punching way above its price point. I would love to get some dCS gear, but I am funding a second home at this time. I did notice that their separate streamer has its own clock input. Pretty sweet stuff. -
Lynghdorf TDAI-3400-- external DAC/DAC-streamer ?
JayDog replied to JayDog's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
That's awesome. That is just the information I was looking for before making a leap. I have the ADC module. Do you think a less expensive external DAC/streamer would make a difference or do I need to step up to the Chord Dave level of performance to best the Lyngdorf? -
Prior post probably sounded arrogant. What I meant, the design of the original is amazing, grab one, sell it if you do not like it and wait. Be patient. Alex and John are working as hard as they want to. The original is a game changer for audio streaming.

Not yet. I purchased the recent Etherregen about 6 months ago. It is running very well with fiber optic converter. Alex will not like me asking, why not the current one? There may still be some back stock, lol.
