thanks, so you think it’s just user inexperience? I will email them to see what the problem is and maybe they can install it, good idea. I watched a YouTube video doesn’t look difficult. A long time ago I installed a few cpu’s but they had the pins on cpu itself.

Hi, I did some inquiry about the SOTM motherboard to a local dutch shop and this is the answer i got back. Hi Rik Thank you for your email and interest in SOtM motherboard. SOtM makes fantastic products, but the motherboard has become a loss-making item for us. Even though this is a standard motherboard, we have received the board back 4 times with a damaged CPU base. Pins were bent and of course it no longer worked. (See photo below of the last board we got back) We have therefore become very hesitant to sell this board. I looked it up, but this is not a special CPU foot, it is just standard material. We have the network card and clock boards in stock. Some customers modify their own motherboard. This also has the advantage that you can work with newer generations of motherboards/CPUs. ???? Does anybody recognize this problem?

Quick question, does anyone know if you can remove the ring around the big taiko capacitor in one piece? I need to put cap on its side for it to fit inside the case.
-
I think we need a scaled up version, say twice the width and twice the depth.
-
Why not put the big Mundorf on its side. That’s what I plan to do with a streacom case. Where did you get those copper crimp terminals?
-
It is a bit on the extreme side but what isn’t in high end audio. Here is an explanation of what all is and what more ESD does.

Yes I know 6690 euro for a pair of drivers is pretty insane pricing.
-
They also sell the drivers only. The cabinets are not too difficult and there is no filter.

RickyV replied to Gavin1977's topic in Music Servers
👍 ordered two. -
Thanks, but I was looking for the measurements from @MarcelNL chokes. If I convert @lwr measurements of Marcel’s choke it’s 140x100x83mm so bigger then the Mundorf’s.
-
@MarcelNL could you please measure the choke’s exact dimensions in millimeters please? I am looking if I can fit two in my case, plans keep changing. Thanks
-
Yes just 1. It for a diy ARC6 configuration.

Hi Marcel, I would like 1 of those beauty’s 👍. Edit: @Gavin1977

What a coincidence, just this morning I was googling the i9 9900K to see what its price was only to find out it’s not for sale anymore. This hole week I was thinking about a new server what power supply to use and what motherboard etc. Nothing to serious still saving money my new house. What I do not understand is why SOTM made such an effort to design this motherboard but you can’t buy the top spec cpu anymore? How long will it take before the other cpu will become obsolete? -
😳 🥺 Marcel killed the rabbit 🐰. 😱 But nice chokes, where did you order those?
-
Hi Bob, how did it go? Are you still playing around with the TigerFox contraption?

Well, 🤔, @Nenon’s unregulated power supply with the Taiko DIY ATX supply and the sMB-Q370 motherboard comes to mind. -
OMG 😳, that is special. 🥴
