  1. Hi, my feedback is probably not very conclusive becuase I have been living in temporary accommodations while my house is renovated. Hence I am currently using a skeleton streaming setup which includes only my server and library running on a NUC7I3 and a Ifi Zen stream. Both are on wireless as I cannot get ethernet connectivity, and they are both powered by a custom linear power supply built for me by my cable and power supply builder. I do not have my network setup that included an isolated LAN via a LPS powered modified switch. Will only restore this part when back in my new audio room at home. Yet - I can say that I am very happy with running Audiolinux on the server as UPNP server and the Zen stream as a UPNP end point. Results were better than using a second NUC as end point. I did not compare to Euphony which I left, but compared to Roon core this is night and day. Even in this temp setup, I get a pretty nice sounding unit. I had quite a few hickups with Audiolinux, but piero provides stellar support. Jplay for IOS provides a control app that gives a Roon line user interface. I don't think I will change this setup anytime soon.
  2. Haven't visited this thread for a long time so apologies if I am asking something that has already been hashed or answered. Don't want to go into a discussion on Roon. I myself went in and out of Roon several times, but the bottom line is that Roon is not giving me what I want in terms of sound. Saying this When using Roon to search Qobuz it is the only way I can find easily all the mastering variants Qobuz has for a specific album. At least from the time I had Roon, I remember that in very specific case (Getz Gilberto is a good example), Qobuz has numerous masterings of the album. Now using UPNP and Mconnect as control app I get nothing of this. Qobuz will only serve me one version of the album. Is this a change in Qobuz or a limitation of the mechanism I am using?
  3. At the moment minimserver on the Audiolinux box and renderer is my LPS powered Zenstream. I am testing for control Mconnect vs Jplay IOS. At the moment, everything is default. I have not yet looked at tweaking. Any advice is welcome!
  4. I think this needs to go to Piero to answer. Send him a direct email. He responds quite quickly. If the Roon issue is still continuing with 5.7.0 then it's a real shame. In any case as I said I decided to stop Roon at least for now. Roon is the best streamer UI that exists, but has too much digital glare in my setup - at least for now.
  5. Headless version Roon was running OK (at least for the few hours I ran it on the upgraded box) no worries about that. I decided to change it purely on sound quality. And I use a simple NUC i5 7300U with 12GB of RAM.
  6. I upgraded today to the 5.7.0 version that was posted a week ago. This seems to have solved all issues and the sound quality is also benefiting. So far so good. Will report back. and by way i dumped Roon and running now as a upnp server. Also had positive effect in my system
  7. Are you running Roon? I have the same problem and at the moment my box is off when not used.
  8. Decided to spend this afternoon trying again audio linux. It's great that this now is 100% professional. Order processed quickly and download link received in 10 minutes. Now would be great to understand how in 2024 the download speed is 100k/b. Tried to download like 10 times and this is failing. Would be nice if this can be resolved.
  9. I did not renew. Back with Roon for now. I have no time to setup anything else……
  10. Hello, I am looking now at alternatives for my streamer and I am considering going back to Audio Linux. I have an unlimited licence I bought in 2020. I will be using a two machine setup - NUC powered by LPS as the server that will also hold my own library. and another NUC for end point or an IFI zen stream (both powered by a high grade linear power supply). My current preference will be to use Roon as player, but wanted to see if people tried other stuff (UPNP etc). Also interested in feedback on the new V3 compared to the V2 I was using.
  11. My Euphony subscription expired earlier today while I was still on a plane flying back home from the US. The automatic renewal did not work since the card I used last year was replaced a few months ago. So I decided to take advantage of this event and try a few other things before I decide whether to take another year or not. I will post all other questions in the appropriate threads, as this one is dedicated only to Euphony.
  12. have you compared them? I never tried Daphile. What player are you using?
  13. I also need to take a decision on Euphony. I’ve had good results trying a two NUC setup running server and end point. My server subscription expires August 3rd (a bummer because i’m on holiday in the US and not back before Aug. 4th). I also need to decide whether I subscribe for the end point license. I am very concerned with the news provided here. I also have an Audiolinux V2 permanent licence which I abandoned because of the issues I had with the way Roon sounds. i am tempted to try other stuff. My friend who builds the custom power supplies I use, tells me he had great results with the Tidal connect exclusive mode on the IFI Zen stream. If I resort to that (I was refusing to move from Qobuz to Tidal, but may reconsider with Tidal moving now to 100% FLAC), I will still need a solution to stream my own library.
