  1. Was there some panic in the air? Are we really so quick to fear the worst when it comes to streaming services? I find this interesting.
  2. What is the point of gaplessness in an album containing several independent songs not connected to each other?
  3. As far as I remember, surprisingly little. Don’t by more than one pack, whatever the size. I’d also suggest listening with less than 2/3 filled.
  4. About Wigmore hall, I find it’s acoustics really cruel. Song recitals can become almost excruciating experiences, never attended concerts with string instruments though. Their own record label portrays a very sweetened version of the aural experience.
  5. Yes, this didn’t use to happen some time ago. Something changed, maybe after the last firmware update.
  6. On Qobuz this album certainly has extra crisp highs which would prove the use of pre-emphasis.
  7. No report and it’s always ALAC, but it did get rid of the emphasized highs. Proof is in the listening.
  8. Some years ago I used iTunes to get rid of pre-emphasis.
  9. Is there a way to stop the searched albums list jumping back up to first row, after clicking an album and going back to the list?
  10. Reality check: Shipping to my EU $35, vat $10, total $53.
  11. Yes, for some reason the Explicit has appeared on many albums, which is indeed quite inexplicit.
  12. Looks like all of their albums are finally available, at least at Qobuz. Funny how Hyperion’s sound quality seems to be very “British”. Never bright, sometimes lacking definition, but always pleasant.
