Saw King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Sunday in Chicago. Off to see them tomorrow night in Milwaukee.

I think it was Stephen Stills who was quoted saying they are the greatest garage band of all time. He played live with them. Jerry played Teach your Children on Deja Vu. Here's a good article with Crosby for perspective. https://variety.com/2020/music/news/david-crosby-remembers-jerry-garcia-grateful-dead-anniversary-1234729939/ -

No I don't believe they ever made it to Oz. On a similar note, I saw King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Sunday and am driving a couple hours to see them again tomorrow night. They bring in a lot of the same people who listen to the Dead here in the States. Their shows are amazing. -

If you really believe the Dead are doing their own thing together as opposed to one single thing then you either haven't listened to them or you haven't read any interviews of the members. No offense. -
That truly is a beautiful venue. Probably sounds great as well. Plant and Krauss put on a good show. Their harmony is one of the best I've ever heard. I also like how they mix in a little Zeppelin.

Cross generation without a doubt. The surviving members are in their 70s and 80s while fans are of all ages. Regional in that there are more fans in the US and Canada than anywhere else in the world, flowed by Europe then elsewhere. The Dead are a jam band. I'd say the best ever. Their music is highly improvised when playing live, similar to jazz. It's not for everyone but then again what music is for everyone? -
WTB - DIY TAIKO CHASSIS (CASE)
Johnseye replied to Dem's topic in Buy & Sell Audio and Computer Components
I'll have one available in about 2 weeks. It is used and it would ship from the US. PM me if interested. -
Metallica tomorrow night, Dweezil Zappa on Thursday.
-
It looks significantly better than the Taiko DIY case which you can't get anymore, not to mention any PC case. It supports the Sage motherboard size and smaller and it has a matching power supply chassis that has room for a variety of components. My guess is not much if at all. It will just have pro bends and look clean.

There was a decision made not to increase the height or thickness of the CPU heatsink as that would reduce the heat transference to the chassis heat sink. As a result additional manual bends of the pipes were necessary. I also own the Taiko DIY chassis and can tell you after bending those pipes myself that it's not going to be pretty. For Taiko's Extreme and Olympus or whatever they sell as a finished product, they are having those pipes bent to spec and in quantity, the purchasers aren't bending them. Who of us DIY builders are professional heat pipe benders? As Angelo said, if you have a pro bending source please let us know. I've had no temperature issues with the pipes I've bent and Exocer is obtaining cooler temps than before. To my knowledge this isn't the start of a mass market enterprise, but a few people pooling their knowledge and resources to build a few custom cases.

Are Trampled by Turtles opening? They're such a good band and put on an amazing live performance.

All of us here consider ourselves audiophiles of one sort or another. We create a listening experience at home. Some like Chris are taking it to the surround level. Anyone looking for an immersive experience should see a concert at the Sphere. It is beyond anything I've ever experienced as an avid recorded and live music enthusiast. From AI: The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada has 167,000 speaker drivers, including 1,586 permanently installed speakers and 300 mobile modules. The speakers are part of the venue's "Sphere Immersive Sound" system, which uses spatial audio technologies like beamforming and wave field synthesis to direct sound to specific locations in the venue. The system also includes amplifiers and processing channels, and 99% of the speakers are hidden behind LED panels.

I'll be there for all 3 this weekend. Been seeing the Dead since '88 and am very excited see shows in this venue.
