  1. My system includes a Trinnov Altitude 16, which seems to offer very high quality room connection for immersive audio system (Wilson Audio Alex V and other Wilson Audio speakers, combined with D'Agastino amps). How do you compare the sound quality for the Accurate Sound set-up versus the Trinnov Altitude 16?
  2. Yesterday, I was advised by a representative from Reference Recordings that the ATMOS file of this album ( which was formatted in ADM DWF codec) would no longer be available on their web-site. I was also advised that they are going to work on having this and future ASTMOS products in a more user-friendly codec.
  3. I downloaded this album, but am unable to play it using Kodi and the Trinnov Altitude 16. A disappointing effort from Reference Recording.
  4. Does anyone know if a Trinnov will play these RR downloads in True HD Atmos?
  5. As I understand it, the computer using MMH has to have a Dolby Atmos converter also on the same computer. How does one obtain the Dolby Atmos converter? Dolby indicates that the will only license their decoding software to professionals. Thanks.
  6. Nice interview, Chris. I noticed that all of your focus is on Dolby Atmos and did not mention AURO 3D. My system has 5.1.6 speakers (the 5.1 speakers being Wilson Audio) and I use a Trinnov Altitude 16 as the source for immersive audio. I have found that I prefer the sound from AURO 3D albums (particularly those released by Spirit of Turtle). And since my Roon device supports AURO 3D, downloading and working with AURO 3D files is much easier than ripping or dealing with Dolby Atmos files. Am I missing something?
  7. Congratulations on your new speakers and an excellent review. I share your sentiments about Wilson Audio speakers. I also share your appreciation of immersible formats. Now that you have completed your review of the Alexia V, it is the time to prod Native DSD to start releasing downloadable material in AURO 3D and Dolby Atlas and to encourage The Spirit of Turtle to up its releases of immersive material.
  8. Thank you for the great postings on immersive listening. I also have a predominantly Wilson Audio speaker system (Alexx V for L/R and Watch for surrounds and center) and would appreciate learning the methodology you use for ripping DVD audio in either AURO 3D or Dolby Atmos. I would also be interested in your thoughts on using JRiver and a Trinnov for streaming the digital rips from a NAS. Thanks so much,
  9. A word of caution regarding the Melco S-100. I am running Roon on a Wolf Audio Alpha 3SX to an S-100 and then on to a dCS Rossini Player. I have repeatedly experienced the dreaded "audio files loading slowly" message when I tried to use a 100mb port on the S-100 for my Hi-Res and DSD streams from my music server to my dCS Rossini. On the other hand, using a 1gb port on the S-100 worked fine. I have been advised by MELCO that there is not enough "headroom" on the 100MB ports to run Hi-Res and DSD streams through the 100MB ports. Furthermore, MELCO advises that it is not possible to change the 100mb ports to 1GB ports. Thus, if one wants to play Hi-Res and DSD streams, one will not be able to take advantage of the higher sound quality advertised by Melco from the S-100's 100mb ports. In addition, one may have more than four devices that need to connect to the four 1gb ports on S-100. These limitations are not reported by Melco, which is lamentable. Finally, you may have seen reports of an optional fiber optics converter (the "OP S-100") for the S-100. I have been told by a MELCO dealer that the MELCO OP S-100 is only available in Japan.
