Just one artist view of Dolby Atmos, he's a popular YouTuber for metal guitar but has some interesting takes. Take it with a grain of salt, as usual, -
Looks like their doing the bouncing off the ceiling thing vs actual speakers in the ceiling. I'm sure it still sounds good.

Correction, other manufacturers are in the works but have not officallly released it Mercedes, Lucid, Lotus and Polestar.

I use the crawl technique. Put the subwoofer in your listening postion (on the chair or couch) and crawl along the floor until you find the spot that resonates/sounds the best to you. That spot is where you place your sub. If you get another sub do it again. This isn't an end all for all sub placements but a good start. From here run some good DSP and get it locked in.

Go to active speakers (vs SQ & cost) ! Daddy's setup with amp+speaker is dead

I'm just taking the high road on this one. Not worth responding to his last few posts. I never hit the ignor button on anyone but this will be my last comment on this thread. -

The single straight forward answer is, yes there are endless combinations of passive setups that will sound better then your avtive setup for the same price. Now we can finally end this thread. You keep saying no one tried, haha. What's that supposed to mean? How do you know? Are you trying to change the world? Maybe it's just a language barrier. I'm truly happy for you. You found something that you love. I have essentially 4 seperate systems, all are great in there own way and have been choosen based on room size and application for that room. Some are active and some are passive. I guess I never cared about the price as long as it serves it purpose. Of course I'm always looking for deal, if one can be had. -

Not as a main system. Kef LS50 on 3 season porsch. Ik Multimedia iLoud MTM's secondary computer room. Genelec 8350's main computer setup with a set of Harbeth's, noted in my signature. -

I think most of us here have both active and passive systems in their homes. Both are great and serve different purposes for differnet enviroments. What your really asking is, can anyone create a better sounding system or recreate the exact sound that my Dynaudio Core 59 speakers do for the same or less. Your speakers contain an amp, DAC, and DSP. Your speakers retail for $3,150 at Sweetwater.com. So that leaves us with $6,250 to work with. Well that leaves us with milllions of combinations of DACs, Speakers and amplifiers. Me simple math skills thinks, that there are 1,000s of combinations that will sound better then your one type of Dyne Speaker. I'm not bashing your speakers. I do believe your system sounds great, Dyne makes world class products, but there are too mant options. How many passive system combinations did you try in your enviroment, it's endless even if you only had $6,250. But that's not really the question though is it. What if 10 acive speaker manufacuters all made a set of speakers worth $6,250. Now you have to choose which set of speakers sounds the best to you. We can do this at any price range $15,000, $50,000. Remember your sound quality is subjective. So even within your $6,250 you could possibly pick even a better or worse sounding active system. The same goes for passive. They'll be good and bad sounding systems (subjectively to yourself) within any given price range. Active systems simply streamline the audio componets into one product. Most poeple love the option to choose exaclty what they want. For some, active systems have cetrain limits. If it contains a DAC, how full functional is that chip inside. Most active speakers I've seen are limited in Sample Rate/Bit Depth and Audio formats. Now, if we add the subwoffer it's $8,000. So your title should have been, can anyone here build a $8,000 passive system with Subwoofer (you can use Dyneaudio 18S ($1,800) that's the one in his system), that will sound the same or better then @tgbDyneaudio's Core 59's with sub? Of , course we have to set up all these passive sytems up in your house for an apples to apples comparison😉
