Nope, get a QVO. The EVO is for use, the QVO is for storage. You do not need performance.

The N200 does sound better, so excellent choice! Congrats and LOTS of listening pleasure! I would go for a Samsung 870 QVO 4 TB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive. Because once you have room to fill, it WILL fill. And then it's easier to add another Samsung 870 QVO 4 TB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive. Make sure to get the real thing, even if it is a bit more expensive. You just spent a lot of money on an N200, the extra $250 for a Samsung 870 QVO 4 TB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive is worth it.

Article: I Bet You’ve Never Heard This … #4

OooOOOooohhh... I remember seeing them live, it was an awesome show! And now it's blasting at quite possibly illegal soundlevels here! Thank you for reminding me of this great album! -
I moved up from an N100SC to an N200 just last week and can confirm every word of this, as also mentioned here.
-
Gosh darn... I actually did try that, but nothing happened. I also sent an email, but: no reply. Probably because of Axpona. Oh well... I did some work on my music collection in the past months (album covers, meta tags, weeding out doubles etcetera), and I was positive that I'd remember what I still needed to remove or upload. (Yeah, right) I probably got most, but now I definitely got everything so it's not all bad. When I go from a 4Tb to an 8Tb SSD I'll call in the tech dept again. Although adding another 4Tb is probably cheaper...

For anyone wondering: It is not possible to move an SSD from a N100SC to an N200. The N200 will not recognize it at all. Probably because the N200 is Intel based and the N100SC is AMD based. So I am now uploading close to 3 Tb from my NAS to my new N200. I did one single album first to make sure it worked and to check how it sounded. I know I said before that it's mainly the DAC that makes the sound (and I am still behind that), but moving from an N100SC to an N200 definitely IS a considerable step up in detail, air, clarity, spaciousness. BTW, the first album was Sting - Brand New Day, in DSF. If you really want to hear an excellent recording, find that.

Wellicht moet ik Engels met een Vlaams accent typen?

I'm hoping my N200 arrives today or tomorrow, I'll just try switching it over. If it doesn't work I'll try the search for new files (excellent idea!), and if that doesn't work I'll format it and copy a few fav albums and listen to those, and then when I go to bed I'll let it pump the rest over.
-
I don't want to copy the files, I just want to turn off the N100SC, pull out the SSD, plug it in the new N200, turn it on and play my music...
-
I guess I'll just try and if it doesn't work, I'll simply format the drive and let it run for a night with a fan pointed at the N200 because it will get too hot without that. 3 Tb is gonna take a while...
-
Is it possible to move SSDs between players? I have an N100SC, which will soon be replaced with an N200 and I am not really looking forward to re-copying everything to the same SSD...
-
A wired connection is a LOT nicer when copying large amounts of data. In a home setting the difference is very noticable. In your case I'd find a long cable and run it through the house until the bulk of the copying is done. Really the easiest is to mount the SSD inside the Aurender. You can access it like a regular HD/partition on your computer and just drag and drop albums. If you are rigid on using sync software (which can go HORRIBLY wrong) you'll have to look into something third party. I would LOVE to see Aurender team up with JRiver and work on a JConductor!
-
Nope. Whatever I copy over to my N100SC (very soon to be replaced with an N200) stays exactly the same as what I have on my NAS. I copy via Win11.
-
A mounted drive indeed works the easiest. It also gives you most control over what is copied to your Aurender. If you download Fileboss you can set filters for everything you copy, so your player won't get cluttered with stuff that has nothing to do with music and only takes up space.
