May, what is "Period Time" in NAA Setup?

Recommended Posts

I'm having an issue where Roon looses contact with the NAA using HQ Player 5.X after 45 mins of play time. The HQP developer says it is due to my computer having DHCP enabled (even though I have it disabled in SoTM's setup with a static IP)

So, I'm looking for various settings that might effect this. In the SMS200 NAA configuration there is a setting "Period Time" and it's set at the default 4096 - but what is it, and what does the setting refer to?

Which kernel are you running on the sms200? And at which rate are you upsampling to in HQPlayer … DSD512x44.1 or DSD512x48?

I had a similar issue few days ago, now solved, described in this thread

I'm not upsampling to DSD at all. I have a Chord DAC that doesn't handle DSD it just downsamples it to 768hz. So, I run HQP at 705.6/768hz.

My Kernel is 6.1.33-210.fc32.armv7hl

Unlike that thread you pointed to, I'm not running HQP Embedded. Both Roon Core and HQP are running on my M1 iMac with MacOS 14.3.1. As well as not upsampling to DSD.

Also, I'm using a SoTM SMS200 Ultra Neo- where that other member is using a SMS200 Neo.

This has been going on for quite a while now - I first started working on finding a fix maybe 6 months ago. I have provided some data logs to HQP. But it just shows "Roon has lost control of HQ Player." I thought maybe it was about 40 mins but I've been timing it and seeing 45 min pretty consistantly.

I checked to be sure it wasn't a DHCP Lease time setting and just in case changed that to 4 hours.

But what is the "Period Time" in the NAA? What does that setting do?
