It is claimed that the latest Ryzen 9000 series processors have full avx-512 support and there are already reviews that verify that: https://www.phoronix.com/review/amd-ryzen-9950x-9900x

Good question. I am wondering as well, how much additional load from the DAC correction there will be by playing DSD1024. 50%? Twice as much?

I definitely welcome the evolving of HQPlayer towards the GPU customisation introduced with the recent 5.7.3 version. It would be great to have the choice between the graphic chips manufacturers however, not only Nvidia. Especially chips used in NUCs and laptops like Intel Iris Xe graphics. These have the greatest marginal benefits being able to facilitate mediocre CPUs.

Thank you for your answer. It would be nice if you could offer Linux/Windows OS options as well. What type of power supply is used? Is it a LPS or SMPS?
-
Will it be possible to install Windows OS instead of Linux? Any hints about the expected availability please?
-
Would be nice, thank you! Especially for lower powered PC where every additional performance headroom matters.

Can the number of DSP pipelines be further reduced to 2 in the next release for those who only need stereo?
-
FYI - As per Aida64 the Intel Iris XE graphics integrated into the 13th gen NUC benchmarked at 2 TFLOPS. It should represent a noticable performance reserve for offload purposes on NUCs

@Miska Could it be possible that the specific DACs you measured for the correction may vary from other siblings? So that eventually the correction should be applied to a custom DAC individually based on its actual performance?
-
It won't start the DAC correction in this way, I am afraid. Both the first matrix pipeline and the correction shall be checked. You may test it by enabling the log file. If you get there the entry "DAC correction post-process active" then it was activated

If only you could add some offload on Intel ARC / Iris Xe graphics, please! That will be so much appreciated by us, the NUC users! 🙏🙏🙏

Are there currently CPUs that can handle all filters up to DSD1024 without needing a GPU? As per benchmarks, AMDs 79xx series are >50% more powerful than i9-14900KS
