Article: Great Shelby Lynne Interview On Songcraft
AudioDoctor replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in Article Comments
I liked this interview Chris. The older I get the more I value authenticity. I fetl that from her in this interview. -
I agree, the real entity at which our ire should be directed is the label/labels or rights holder likely requiring Qobuz to make this change, or who knows, the alternative may be to lose access to ALL of that labels catalog. Download your purchases immediately, and back them up safely and securely to make this a non issue. This is also a good example of the importance of ownership and having local files versus streaming. An album on your hard drive in a non-drm format is yours forever, ideally. An album on a streaming service is there at the whim of the rights holder and can disappear at any moment.

The meaning of a green CRC code in ddbpoweramp CD Ripper?
AudioDoctor replied to AudioDoctor's topic in Software
I should have done a search, thank you. I did rip song one before realizing I did not have album art, stopping the rip, getting the art, and then starting over. Also after ripping I realized I already own a digital purchase of this album. -

I guess I need to upgrade now. -
Hey, I am ripping a CD that I was given for my Bday months ago and the very first song says it was an accurate rip, the CRC code is green. I have never seen that before? Does anyone know what that means?

I have a small HQPe only server I built that is still on 22.04 server and CUDA, I use Minimserver on my Desktop with JPLAY to provide it files. If Fedora were to wreak havoc on my local files, I still have them on the TrueNAS and in the cloud on Backblaze's servers. I still want to be mindful of it just so I don't have to hassle with rebuilding any pools on my local machine, downgrading a kernel, etc... Fedora works so well on my desktop though, much better than Ubuntu ever did.

After my girls had their friends over to sing along to Taylor Swift albums, a couple of those friends dads have asked about my system. one was at our house for a BBQ, along with his wife and kids, and he and I went and listened to some songs. People who have never heard a good quality playback system before really do have their minds blown when they hear it for the first time.

JPLAY for iOS
AudioDoctor replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in Networking, Networked Audio, and Streaming
A very quick and easy google search would have proven that false. Ah, I see the problem, iPadOS and iOS are separate things. -
It’s only a matter of time before my kids and wife find out!!

Interesting. I know of at least one speaker manufacturer who make their speaker boxes out of bamboo. https://ascendacoustics.com/ and they're nice speakers as well.
