Optical Network Configurations

Wouldn’t the CRS305 just work fine as a switch even with the router OS ? I have one I purchased new long time ago, that I plan to test, and partly replace my other Mikrotik. I also have some ideas of using VLAN, which mean I need a managed switch. -
The only problem (I assume) with using Neutrik SpeakON is space in the chassis Uptone is using for the ER’s. Otherwise these connectors are one of the best to use for quad core DC power cables. The power supplies from Uptone already using SpeakON. Also I would think the custom cable Uptone already is supplying, is sufficient enough to ensure the best SQ. One could experiment with adding JSSG360 after new products are released.

@Superdad Will a 4-pole Neutrik SpeakON jack fit the EtherRegen 2 box ? Would be interesting to try standardizing most products from John’s design on this interface. Agree? (Or maybe use both options if space allows).

What is the assumed price ? And can you reveal when the new power supply is ready to ship and estimated price ? Also, will you offer Gotham 4quad or similar DC cables ? And if not can you confirm 2.1 mm at ER2, and Neutrik and type for the JS4 ? Assuming the ER2 is too small to utilize Neutrik. Which may would been preferable?

This is the best power conditioner. (According to the shop who sells it). https://oslohificenter.no/stromrens/isotrafoer/adyton-isovolt-3k Only sold in Norway. Not for US voltage. (Yet). Tested by several well known HiFi providers. And used by them in Munich HiFi show. (According to the shop owner).

Why not ask Amphenol if they’re willing to make a DAC with JSSG360 ? 1 and 2 meter options. -
Introducing the Sonore opticalRendu Deluxe

I think @barrows has tested external clock on the signature version with good results. Is there a possibility that either a better clock will be added to the signature version, or an external clock input can be added there. -
The previous 2.8 had support for Roon extensions. @vortecjr @agillis When will the latest version of sonicTransporter SW support this feature?

One should assume there is a room for improvement, by cutting that shield, and add JSSG360. (Creating a Faraday Cage). -
…..and you can conned two ER2 in series. A>B>B>A, and almost achieve a A side on the second one as clean as the B side of the first one. Using fiber on A side first one. Experiment with what’s best solution between the two B sides. The power supply must be separate, unless you use a JS4. Still the RJ45’s in the second ER2 in this setup can contaminate each other I assume. What you gain is total isolation from sources upfront in the chain. Maybe do not sell our old ER1, you can use it to enhance the performance of the ER2 😀 (In various ways, not only the example above).

Same technology Belden uses in Ethernet cables. And we before found out was the best sounding technology when we played with making John’s faraday cage theory into some modified products. Maybe we will start using JSGG on AOS’s 😂 I assume these cables are harder to roll yourself. -

…..now, who will be the fist to put a comment in that Ear article? (About impedance). Maybe suggest a 4 meter has 200 ohm, but if you run them in parallel, it will be 100 ohm and maybe they will make a custom version for those in need as well.
