Hi Adrian: How does one custom order one of the flagship music servers. For example, I really don't need an 8 TB SSD. 2 TB is sufficient for me. Also, it says that audio playback is done through the USB port. In my current setup, the ROON Core is in my general purpose PC. After that to an ethernet switch, and from there to a Bricasti M5 streamer. From the Bricasti M5 to the DAC is done via USB. So my question is, can music be played just using the single ethernet port? Thank you and continued good listening. Jeff

This Pioneer S13j-X optical drive can be customize to build in to the EVA Series. The carbon fiber frontplate can be re-designed with optical drive located at the left side of the Karmann Server. This EVA Series will be all-in-one box solution and may be the first product never seen in the market. 

 

The new optical driver adds on option is included in the web site now.

Yes, the SSD will be initialized and formatted at the Windows Server 2022 and it will ready to use and labelled as Music Storage. It will plug and play for Roon Server to add storage or Music Backup after CD ripping with th Pioneer S13J-X.

Message for AfterDark regarding your music servers  I only use a IPad can I fully manage including using the Pioneer optical ripper with my IPad this is the only device I use , or will I need a lap top computer .

The music server is windows based and can be accessing easily with TeamViewer on other ipad IOS or laptop computer. For use the CD Ripper, we recommended to use dbPoweramp cd ripping software. This will allow automatic CD ripping to WAV and hanFLAC with all the CD cover and track details at once.

Both SoTM motherboard and Diretta Target modules and Giesemann S1 SFP NIC will be benefit and optimised by Giesemann Clock Sync Modules (GCSM). The single 10M Master Clock Input can sync all the critical components in Giesemann KARMANN Music Server.

The SoTM Q370 Clock Sync version will able to connect clock signal of 24Mhz and 25Mhz for CPU and Lan & USB

The standard Intel Raptor Lake platform has a 38.4MHz crystal as a reference clock to the PCH. The PCH then generates three clocks:

 

• 38.4 MHz reference clock for the CPU internal clock generator
• 100MHz PCIBCLK for PCIe, DMI, and I/O
• 24MHz frequency for TSC, display, and SVID controller

 

When connecting with the Giesemann External Reference Master Clock 10M input. The Giesemann Clock Sync Modules (GCSM) will generate the Reference Clock Signal at 38.4Mhz for the Intel PCH Chipset (PLL), the above graph shows how important this 38.4Mhz is. This single frequency will provide the reference point for all the process at the CPU, PCIe, DMI, I/O, All cores, and RAM frequencies will take into account.

Selection of Audiophile Motherboard and tweaks with Audio Components

 

We choose the Industrial Motherboard after we listen with it carefully at the system. It is always good to apply some EMI Shielding for the power section for the RAM and this is significant improvement for  sounding. We selected to use the lowest latency of DDR5 RAM. As a result, the sound is much smoother and provide darker background. 

 

The BIOS will be tweaked with CPU under clocking and Memory under clocking, we always keep the electronic to be run in under clock and maintains moderate heat for CPU and Memory. This keep the music server in optimial sound quality and impoves harmonic sonics and were able to tweaks in BIOS levels on motherboard.

 

The FROLYT bipolar Capacitor will be applied on Giesemann Clock Sync Modules for sound tuning and optimisation. This special tweak help us to improvement the clock signal much smoother to all cards and motherboard.

Thermal transport in graphene is 14 times compared to thermal conductivity in copper, the server temperature will be much lower with high performance heat transfer from CPU.
