  1. The problem with your picture is that the cables cannot be identified. Can you remedy to that ?
  2. I just got a lot of 5 Amphitenol SF-SFPP2EPASS-000.5 cables for 80US$ all included. I only need 2. I could share remaining 3 at bare cost + shipping. pm me if interested.
  3. Hmm.. Where did you get that ? I have no issue here connecting an EtherRegen to either a Signature Rendu DeLuxe or original Optical Rendu, using a 10Gtek SFP+ DAC cable model CAB-10GSFP-P1M. Did not try with a Sonore Optical module, but I will check and report.
  4. Jesus,, Your test procedures are all based on the use of Sonore equipment. I know about OpticalRendu DX and OpticalRendu DX, as many of us are. Bur the TotalDAC is a complete unknown: I never found any review of this DAC: who makes it, etc, even on your web site where I would expect such a review to be found in the first place. So why don't you test a D-A-C cable yourself in your proposed setups ? You are in the best position to do that. You could report on the outcome, That would be helpfull. I hope you will change your mind ...
  5. Thanks for the tip.But I do not think I will invest in 2 ER2's, and wait for the ER2 to come into production. I do not think Alex will accept to sell me 2 units, given (I suppose) the high number of people already in line to get just one unit. I am still pondering on the value of the ER2 to feed two distinct renderers.
  6. Thanks for your clear answer. Seems however that a GEN2 will not be such a good choice in my setup. TReghards
  7. @Superdad I own an EtheRegen (GEN 1) since the beginning, and I need to feed two distinct endpoints (Sonore Signature Rendu, originally OpticalRendu & Sonore UltraRendu) in order to compare sound quality on 2 different USB-Dacs attached to each. My only solution to achieve this goal (or I thought so...) was to use the ER in reverse mode, eg: - router connection on the B side - SFP cage on A side to the Sonore Signature Rendu - RJ45 connector on A side to Sonore UltraRendu (I remember John Swenson saying this was the way he would use the ER in a similar context). But I am still confused. - How can I feed both a Sonore optical device (optical rendu/Signature rendu) on my ER not using a RF-45 port on the A side on top of the SFP port ? What other setup do you recommend ? - With the advent of the ER GEN2, will I be better off ? On the GEN2 B side, the RJ45 and the SFP ports are mutually exclusive (or am I mistaken again?). So how shouldI connect on the GEN 2 the router to both an optical endpoint and a RJ45 endpojnt. Should I simply forget about GEN2 in my context ? Sorry for sometimes being obtuse.
  8. I am having very good results with a 10Gtek 10G SFP+ DAC connecting an EtherRegen to a Sonore Signature de Luxe. Great sound.
  9. Well summarized. The Eversolo UPNP native control point functionality (as part of the unit software suite) does not work for me. I have two UPNP servers running on my Win11 system: minimserver and MediaMonkey. Both can be seen by BubbleUPnP as the control point on the many android tablets I have at home. But the Eversolo native UPNP control point sees none of my UPNP servers. Chris has posted a video where we clearly see that his Eversolo unit detects his minimserver without issue. But Chris' minimserver is running on a QNAP NAS, whereas mine is running on win11. I believe the QNAP is linux-based, and the QNAP OS may handle UPNP differently with some secret sauce thrown in. Could that point to a possible explanation ? Perhaps also his minimserver config contains a special setting related to UPNP. I use the standard values for the communication ports. Perhaps this is different for Chris. Regards,
  10. Thanks. I checked that my windows network type is set to Private. I even disabled the firewall. Restarted the windows server and minimserver. Restarted the DMP-A6 and did a factory reset. Tried going WiFI instead of wired. Still no luck. Streaming > UPNP still shows No Data on the DMP-A6 front panel. Again, I do not have any problem connecting minimserver to DMP-A6 with BubbleUPnP. Thanks for your help.
  11. Same numbers as mine for the "About" DMP-A6. But still no success on my side. Minimserver is undetected by the DMP-A6 . My minimserver is running on Win-11 wired, as my DMP-A6.. What about your gear? Do not see what else I could look at. Hope Eversolo dev's could chime in. Thanks for your help
  12. Chris, How did you achieve having minimserver showing on the Hi Chris, How did you achieve getting minimserver showing on the DMP-A6 front panel through Streaming > UPNP ? I have minimserver running on Win 11, and I am totally unable to get similar results on my DMP-A6 unit, whatever setting I try. No problem however streaming to the DMP-A6 from minimserver using BubbleUPnP as a control point. Was your DMP-A6 running the latest beta firmware ? You would do me a great service by looking into that. Regards, André
  13. Alas, this does not work for me. I am running the official Eversolo firmware (not the beta!) Eversolo wired to the same network as the host running minimserver. BubbleUpNp can see the DMP-A6 renderer and the minimserver library and connect the two. However, on the Eversolo, going to Music streaming> UPNP shows nothing. Must be something wrong I am doing, but I have no clue. A hidden setting somewhere ? Help appreciated! André
  14. Maybe I am thick, but I cannot figure out how you got MinimServer to show up on the DMP-A6 front panel. Is your DMP-A6 directly connected to the host running MinimServer, through USB? In my case, I have a running MinimServer instance and a DMP-A6 on my network, no connection to the MinimServer host. I can connect those two using BubbleUPnP without problem. But I cannot find an other way to connect DMP-A6 to MinimServer. Do not waste more of your time on this topic. Surely someone else can answer. Regards
  15. But let's not forget about those old-timers who still appreciate listening to CDs. I reported the problem on he Eversolo DMP-A6 forum. Let's hope a solution can be found.
  16. Nice review Chris. I got this streamer a month ago, and really like it. A couple of issues however, and I wonder if you had time to experience them. 1- CD playback is not gapless. Take Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon as a classic example, top's are clearly audible between tracks. I could add many more examples in classical music, especially opera, where failure to play gaplessly is really annoying. Interestingly, if you rip those albums to internal storage using the CD app, they play gaplessly . 2- I cannot understand how the screensaver functions. Its behavior appears erratic, and needs some polishing. As a final point: you mention you were able to connect the DMP-A6 to minimserver. Was that using BubbleUPP (or a similar app) as an intermediary? Could you elaborate just a little bit ? Thanks again for this long expected review! André Gosselin

  21. Another aspect to consider: if you transfer your account from France to Canada (or some other country where Qobuz operates), what will happen to the purchases made in Qobuz-France, and also the favorites accumulated over the years ? Will all those be transferred to your new accoiunt ? I suspect there will be problems because of different rights between countries. Another observation: what is the real advantage of switching your account from Qobuz-France ? What will you have gained at the end ? Cheers
  22. But is this really a LPS, as the OP said ? I am no expert, but it does not seem so ...
  23. I have been using such a config for 2 years since I purchased the EtherRegen without any SQ issue: router > B side RJ45 port sonore optical rendu > A side SFP port (using the Moon780Dv2 as a usb DAC) Moon 780Dv2 DAC/streamer > A side RJ45 port
