pwhinson
My LPS 1.2 is suddenly flashing red and not powering my optical module feeding my optical rendu. I've powered everything down, unplugging then replugging. What happens is on the LPS 1.2 solid red, I get a solid yellow, then a SOLID GREEN and the optical module glows green indicating its receiving power. THEN after about 3 seconds, the light on the LPS 1.2 starts flashing red. If I restart it all again without the optical module attached, the LPS 1.2 turns green and stays green. When I then plug it into the optical module it starts flashing red again. I have another power supply that I've temporarily hooked up to the optical module and everything is working fine. The PROBLEM is that I prefer the sound of the LPS 1.2. Is there anyway to fix this? Suggestions? Link to comment
BCRich
@pwhinson Hi, what output voltage are you using on the LPS-1.2? Mike My System: https://audiophilestyle.com/profile/9256-bcrich/?tab=field_core_pfield_3 Link to comment

It worked well for a year or two and then just ... didn't :/ And the symptoms sound the same; i.e., it would power up just fine on its own, but would turn red and fail to power my microRendu. I didn't try to have it fixed because I just assumed it only had a limited life and I didn't want to continue spending money on it. BCRich
Hi Paul, Probably not a factor at this point but maybe try 7V. Thats what I use with my OMD. Maybe the LPS-1.2 is drawing too much current at 5V. Maybe wait for Alex to chime in. Good Luck.. Mike My System: https://audiophilestyle.com/profile/9256-bcrich/?tab=field_core_pfield_3 Link to comment

Hi Paul: Sorry to say that I am only just now seeing your post about this! For some reason the AS forum system not notify me of newly created threads here in our sponsored forum area (hey @The Computer Audiophile can that be adjusted?) and your post topic falls after the many pinned/sticky ones above it (guess I should cull/unpin some of those old ones). In any case, please contact me directly about your issue so we can diagnose the problem. Sadly, our UltraCap series in the end had a very poor reliability record. The technical details of the infuriating saga were documented over the years and summarized here: UpTone Audio LLC Link to comment
