  1. SuperDad : Did you have a chance to compare the 3 PS (the MiniTeddy, the CiAudio and the Sonore) with say, the OR de Luxe? I am using the SGC basic PS, I'm looking to upgrade (as per Vortecjr recommendation) and I was wondering if it is worthwhile to pay twice the money for the Sonore PS? Thanks...
  2. A very interesting message / update from Qobuz (in the Qobuz club) re Qobuz connect : We don't yet have a release date, as that also depends on external factors such as the integration of each manufacturer, but the project is moving forward. We invite you to encourage your favorite supplier to contact us and develop Connect together!
  3. I read this we that Qobuz (from a Qobuz person) is working with Marrantz and Denon in order to have ‘Qobuz connect’ implemented in their streamers. Can we expect the same from Sonore? Did you speak with Qobuz? Would be great to use it instead of MConnect.
  4. Thanks for your comments / help Therefore, I will run a playlist ‘non-stop’ for the next 1-2 weeks (I was not aware burn-in was also needed for a streamer). Afterwards, seems I will have to look for a better ps (and perhaps an optical module) as I can’t use my SBooster (it is 12V). Thanks again…
  5. Hello, I just received my Optical Rendu de Luxe (with SGC generic FMC & SGC power supply) to replace my Zen Stream / SBooster combo and I have a few questions : First, the Optical Rendu de Luxe has more details and I can hear more ‘nuances’ in the music. Instruments are also better defined. It is a better streamer. However, the sound is a bit ‘clinical’...and less ‘emotional’. Therefore, I was wondering : Do you know if the OR needs some burn-in? It sounds a bit ‘cold’ (like an ‘un-burn’ Dac). I suspect the SBooster is a better power supply than the SGC one. If I buy a better ps (ex : Claudio ps on the Sonore site. Some are saying it is almost as good as the Sonore one. Is it?), will it help for the ‘clinical sound’? Do you think an Optical module (instead of the generic FMC) can help that aspect? In my mind, it should not as it is on the dirty side but I was wondering. To be clear, I do not look for more details (the OR has plenty) but for a ‘warmer’ sound (with the details / nuances of the OR, it would be fantastic). Thanks. PS English is not my first language
  6. Thanks Vortecjr. It is exactly the type of product I was looking for...
  7. I was waiting for an optical rendu de luxe powered by the standard SGC 7v power supply and I’ d like to try a better ps to hopefully having a better sound. I heard the Sonore ps is great but at $1100cad (before delivery), it is a bit too much, Anybody is using a significantly better 7v ps (than the SGC one) without an astronomic price on the OR? Was thinking about the TeddyPardo mini. Anybody did try its with the ps with the OR? Other suggestions?
  8. Vortecjr : Talking about the Opticalrendu V2, do you know when they will be available again?
  9. Bonjour MartinT, I tend to agree about Mconnect being terrible but I think BubbleUPnP is not available in the Apple (iPad / iPhone) world (correct me if I am wrong. I would be delighted to...)
  10. Bonsoir BCRich, As my Dac disappeared from Sonicorbiter after this post (???), I re-install it with Mike's procedure and it works (and when I re-install it, it behaves differently. Think / hope will be ok this time). HOWEVER, still have no music. MConnect gives me the message 'error from the device' and it does not play. Then I put the MConnect volume to 100% and it still do not work (error from the device). Then, I delete / re-download Mconnect to be sure it was not a MConnect software issue... with the same results (no music). However the app works flawlessly downstairs with my IFI Zen Stream. Seems the OR is sending an error to MConnect. Suggestions???
  11. Thanks Charles. I will add it to Mike's procedure... that I will keep religiously
  12. I follow Mike’s procedure this morning and it works. You are my hero😀. I can hear music now but the volume is very low (and yes I set Dac to max volume). What should I do next?
  13. I suspect there is an exact process on how to power on / connect everything / the order of doing each steps somewhere, so if somebody knows it…
  14. I do not understand exactly what you are looking for. By the way, earlier tonight, I was finally able to see my Dac in Dac diagnostics. However, while using mconnect, I received a message that the unit was sending an error message (see attached). Then I tried a reboot (big mistake), the Dac disappeared and I’m not able to retrieve it on the app. I spent a least 5 hours today trying to setup this thing. If you can give me some tips… Thanks…
  15. Hello, Just received an Optical Rendu V2 (running on the 2.9 software). I connect it, I can see the OR in the sonicorbiter site... but when I click on manage / Apps / DAC Diagnostics, I received the message 'No audio devices found. Attach a USB DAC to this player'. I try numerous times, reboot everything (OR, router, etc...), connect / disconnect everything numerous times, it does not work. My DAC is a Border Patrol Se-i (it's a R2R Dac). Why??? Is it possible that the new OR is not compatible with this Dac? Any suggestions???
