The Atmos version is very nice. I have the stereo release. I would love to hear the real trueHD Atmos.

I agree. How else can you do it? Too many readers. What reader? Any, all? Does anyone ask this of a painter or a songwriter? -
Product Reviews With and Without Comparisons

Interesting subject. I can’t really say with any confidence how a piece of kit sounded that I have not heard in my system recently, other than whether I liked it and general attributes, also, what other changes to the system have occurred in the interim? New kit, speaker placement changes even different rooms and room treatment. It is obviously helpful to have other different samples to do direct comparisons to, but that can get pricey, plus a cluttered room. Sometimes the best you can do is rely on one’s faulty memory. At least with a given piece of kit, one can describe what one is hearing now. This topic reminds me of a past life when I was doing Blu Ray movie reviews. One commentator lambasted me on a review of the Raiders of the Lost Ark review claiming that the color of the Nazi flags in the Blu Ray didn’t match what he recalled seeing in The theater all those years ago, or the old DVD. The fact that the director and cinematographer signed off on the color grading did not matter. All we can do is the best we can and try to accurately describe what we hear and make value judgments based on that. That is all. -
True dat. Had a couple that we knew over and they asked about being an audiophile. I said just listen. They were both Jazz fans and asked if I had Midnight Blue as they had just listened to that. I said of course and played the 24/192 2012 remaster. Almost played the entire album until it was time to leave for dinner. Couldn’t believe it.
