  1. Odd, Chandos shutting down their own download sales shouldn't have anything to do with what they sell on other platforms...
  2. It makes me wonder if the company is going to be sold, and they’re planning for big changes and warning people. Though that’s not much warning. It’s only a week away.
  3. I agree, the fact that they would warn you suddenly about this does seem suspicious.
  4. Rightsholders - who could be labels or artists, or others who may have purchased a catalog of music - are in their rights to withdraw from sale or streaming any content at any time. This isn't new, I don't know why anyone is making a stir about it. Here's what Apple's terms and conditions for media services say, and what they all say: - Purchased Content will generally remain available for you to download, redownload, or otherwise access from Apple. Though it is unlikely, subsequent to your purchase, Content may be removed from the Services and become unavailable for further download or access from Apple (for instance, because Apple loses its right from the Content provider to make it available). To ensure your ability to continue enjoying Content, we encourage you to download all purchased Content to a device in your possession and to back it up.
  5. always upload your purchases > always download your purchases. (The word télécharger means both, so the context dictates which is correct.)
  6. I returned the amplifier, and the retailer tried it out and it works fine for them. We couldn’t figure out what could be causing the problem with my subwoofer. I have seen some suggestions, as mentioned above, that the power output maybe too low. I have no way of knowing what power output my subwoofer needs. But, as Chris said, it shouldn’t be rocket science.
  7. Indeed. And the BluOS and Dirac Live set up instructions are incredibly inadequate. I’ve returned the amplifier, but I’m wondering if there’s a problem with my subwoofer. I’ve used it with several amplifiers, and not had a problem, but why would it not be compatible with this one?
  8. So, I bought a NAD C 3050 amplifier recently and had a couple of problems. One was that there was no audio coming out of my subwoofer, a Wharfdale Diamond SW150. I returned it, and the retailer called me today to say that it works fine for them. The amp has a BluOS module, so the audio was going through that, using a crossover of 80 Hz. My subwoofer has crossovers at increments of 5 Hz - 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, and 85. No matter what it's set at, the amp should be sending audio below 80 Hz, and the subwoofer should be able to play. Is there any logical reason why this wouldn't work? The retailer said he tried with a BluOS subwoofer, so I'm a bit wary of it being designed for this module. I found these forum threads on the BluOS forum talking about low subwoofer output on certain NAD amps: https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360051425374-Weak-subwoofer-output https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360051425374-Weak-subwoofer-output I do like the NAD C 3050, but I'm hesitant too replace it with the model without the BluOS module. The retailer said there's no problem if I want to try it; they're happy to take it back if it doesn't work. But I don't see any reason why the subwoofer I have wouldn't work. Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm used to computer stuff being incompatible, but not audio.
  9. I had never heard of QSound, but I can definitely hear what you’re talking about. Interestingly, if I switch to Mono in the BluOS app, I still hear somewhat distinct channels on the left and right. i’m going to return this and get the same amplifier without the BluOS module. I don’t like to have to worry about software in an amplifier when I’m listening to music.
  10. If it's not been configured, I assume it's not doing anything. The fact that there are no controls is a negative here. Anyway, shouldn't Dirac just be a sort of EQ, and not do any fancy DSP like faux stereo (which should never happen on any amp)?
  11. It has Dirac, but I don't see any way to enable or disable it. I was unable to configure Dirac yesterday, because there's no sub output and it kept giving me errors. So I don't know if it's doing anything. And should it affect the signal if I'm not streaming through BluOS, when I'm listened via a Toslink connection? There is no documentation about this at all.
  12. Done. They're mono through my AirPods. So it's definitely the amp doing something. And now I wonder what it's doing when I play stereo music; it has to be somehow applying DSP, which is not what I want. (Unless I choose to.)
  13. I’ve tried on numerous discs. I can check later to be absolutely sure, but it doesn’t sound like they’re just slightly different; it sounds like that faux stereo TVs used to make, or that some iTunes plug-in made to give assemblance of surround sound.
