  1. El Guapo

    HQ Player

At least in my MCH DSD environment, Win 10 or 11 never get close to Linux’s bare-metal performance based on CPU and GPU utilization rate. gauss-long + ASDM5EC-light -> 13ch DSD on Win 11, you can see very high utilization rate of CPU and GPU. And unfortunately some of the filter/modulator combo of HQPd couldn’t run on Win 11 (only light combos can do): Same combo (actually, nearly all combos except modulators designed for 512fs+), same hardware. On Linux, it’s just a cookie cutter:
  2. Still applies. My HQPe server is synchronized by one of my GPS PTP GMC using ptp4l + phc2sys. Every time I cold-boot my HQPe server it will spend at least half an hour to calibrate the system clock. In the meantime if play music, you'll hear audio variation due to system clock's frequency slewed by phc2sys. It's reproducible.
  3. It was an inexpensive QNAP QSW-2104 2.5GbE unmanaged switch. After that I only use L3 management switch for my home LAN and AES67 AoIP network. Unmanaged switch does not fit in my AoIP environment.
  4. Depends on protocols and / or applications. For example, by AES67 standard, if packets have been delayed more than 250ms it will be dropped (RTP is one of the timestamped services so it knows the delay). Such delay might caused by incorrect network (LAN/WAN) settings. The data is transmitted but just dropped. Too much useless packets in a network will reduce whole performance even in your home LAN.
  5. The significant one in my past experience was AoIP on an unmanaged switch. Playing music while moving large files between computer and NAS on the same switch would create FM-like sound (reproducible). 😆
  6. Try using web browser to access your Audio Linux's ip_address:9090 page. Please screen capture and post these tabs and info (technically speaking, you don't need Aneman to manage your Ravenna/AES67 connections): 1. PTP tab: 2. Session sources tab: Also access your NADAC's ip_address:9090 page, screen capture and post: 3. PTP tab: 4. Sink tab: Those tabs would help identifying connection issues.
  7. I helped a friend to build a discrete immersive system based on Esoteric DACs, Accuphase Amps and Wilson Audio’s loudspeakers. Merging Hapi Mk2 is the role of AES67 -> AES3 DDC for main, center and surround channels (send to Esoteric mono or stereo DACs respectively) and additional MCH DACs (DA8P expansion card) for other channels. Here’s the YouTube video:
  8. I installed it via Ubuntu Pro 🤔 I'm glad Ubuntu provides 1000Hz realtime kernel this time.
  9. @Miska Hi Miska just a quick report. I did do-release-upgrade CLI and upgraded to Ubuntu server 24. Installed the HQPe for Noble. Everything worked smoothly. Tested stock generic and realtime kernels were all o.k. Stock 6.8 realtime kernel also could install nVidia 550 headless driver by blacklisted nouveau driver plus changed the IGNORE_PREEMPT_RT_PRESENCE=1 environment variable before apt install CLI. I also local built your libgmpris.so. All these things added together let me subjectively thought the overall SQ got improved!
  10. The latency set to 64 is on MAD, not Advanced page.
  11. Intel Atom x7425e version Up^2 Pro 7000 https://up-shop.org/default/up-squared-pro-7000-edge-series.html
  12. Pelase forget about the unicast / multicast now. Make sound first.😉 Although I suggest to use unicast mode but in fact both can work for this kind of situation. In advance page you can change multicast to unicast just a checkbox thereafter. So just stay with older version of ANEMAN.
  13. You need the older version of ANEMAN to disconnect ALSA LKM and NADAC first then connect your NADAC to MAD. Please verify you’ve selected 64 frames on MAD and NADAC.
  14. I'd like to suggest isolate possible network issue here (ASIO clock always missing). Please connect +Player directly to your i5-13599T (I think your i5-13599T should have at least one RJ45 available). On MAD select that RJ45 port and click ASIO Settings: Restart Server on Advanced Settings side of MAD. Also reboot +Player. After reboot you should see link-local IPv4 addresses will be used on both. Then back to ANEMAN and try establishing audio connections.
