I am using Eclipse FIR Designer. I avoided linear phase filters due to pre ringing. I was using only min phase filters. Last night I removed the min phase all-pass filters that the Eclipse tutorial prescribed for flattening phase response. Removing them solved the eco problem AND vastly improved the sound. I also changed the FIR filters to 192khz.

I’m setting up HQP desktop to run eight channels of 96khz FIR xovers using the matrix pipeline. I upsample to 192 using HQP and I use Roon as my music source. When I play a 96 or 192 track all is fine. But when I play a 44khz track I get odd echos especially in the high end. I turned on Roon upscaling to 96 and it appears to resolve it. But I really only want to use HQP for all upscaling. Do my xover FIR wav files need to be 192khz or is there a way to get HQP to pre upscale to 96 then run the pipeline and then upscale to 192?

Here’s the screenshot - I don’t know where to enter the full-spectrum room correction wav file in order for it to apply to all8 channels. The manual says it’s not recommended to use both the convolution tab and the matrix together.

If I understand you correctly: In order to apply a full spectrum room curve across all 8 channels I would need to add the wav file to each of the channels individually? wouldn’t that result in 8x the cpu impact?

Does the HQP pipeline matrix run sequentially? I have a 4way system and I want to apply a full range room correction first to 1&2 before using 1&2 as input for the other 6channels and applying the respective crossovers. will this work?
  7. Thanks, I’m also trying out theMac Desktop HQP version. I don’t find the HQPlayer.xml on the Mac?
  8. I’m running HQP embedded on a Sonic Transporter(it’s great!). I can select CD input and play from usb cd drive no problem. But I can’t figure out how to access other real time input. I tried a usb toslink converter that I know works - but no idea how to select it as an input since it never appears in the input tab.
