  1. Yup I've seen some ASR topic, that's what lead me to Erin's review in the 1st place. That whole ASR thing made me a bit hesitant tbh, don't know if it was a one time thing
  2. I'm happy you are enjoying them! And thanks for all the details! I have a couple of questions on that, Would you describe their sound as having that sparkle at the top? That's something I really like about a speaker and it's clarity, being able to breathe. And I listen at low volumes typically (think calm nights in a calm neighborhood), do they still sound good and bass-ey on such low volumes?
  3. Thanks for the info @Matias How would you describe its sound ? How big is your room?
  4. Thanks @DuckToller yup price is accurate with shipping to KSA. Reviews are scarce for this one though Erin had good things to say about it :)
  5. Hi, I'm looking to buy a pair of speakers in the range of 2-4k $, but unfortunately where I live there's very few choices. So I'm looking for options to buy and ship online, I currently live in Saudi Arabia. So far the options I found: Buchardt Philharmonic And a few others who ship internationally but only in Europe, and some others who deliver, but don't really have quality options. Any help is appreciated. Cheers. Kaboz

  7. Yes, Buchardt support is actually awesome! I wonder if there are other companies that offer global international shipping like Buchardt and Philharmonic ? I know of Daniel Hertz who does that but in specific countries (not including Saudi Arabia)
  8. Thanks for sharing this! I've been in the Buchardt rabbit hole for the last few days :D I love the interntaional shipping policy, it's perfect for people like me with no access to physical stores to test the speakers out (which is how it should be done otherwise I believe). I like their S400 MK2, though it seems to be more suited for larger rooms, and listening positions that are farther away from the speakers, still looking though.
  9. Mille mercis, for the detailed answer and effort, on to your points: - Amazon.com.sa ? Yes, definetly, but note that when delivering speakers to KSA (from USA for example), sometimes the delivery charges are exaggerated (like in thousands of Riyals), so I always set delivery country to KSA to see how much is added. Sharaf DG and other stores in Dubai would probably not be an option. - Thanks for sharing all this info, I'm trying to digest everything as I'm a n00b when it comes to many of this stuff but I'm working on it, so your response has been helpful, this is what I need now. - My daily music normally comes from Spotify, not my own collection, and I will probably look into higher quality streaming services such as Tidal once i get a good enough system in place. So my focus will be more on streaming than listening to my old collection as I'm someone who likes to constantly hear newer music, though I'm struggling to find good tracks constantly, being very picky in this day and age, and in the same time always busy with life, work, kids and everything.. - I believe my plan now is: (and your words made it even more clear that this the best plan for my situation ATM) 1- Bring the Yamaha AV receiver 2- Continue researching and asking to choose the best speakers around 2000$ (given I'll probably add an extra 250$ for shipping or price difference in KSA) 3- Buy ones that I'm really confident about and that are not too dependent on the amplifier's quality (The f500sp for example, I read they sound great with some systems, and not that good in others) 4- From here, I can move into upgrading my amp, but I still honestly don't know how much of a difference that could make given my room is small and my listening preference is low volume so I shouldn't need a lot of power? 5- And lastly (actually this is step 1), I will be buying acoustic wall panels(absorbing type) as I noticed my room has echo, I don't have any experience in these either so I should start educating myself, any tips are very appreciated as well. 6- An external DAC is something I may look into in future but probably not the most pressing piece right now. - Thanks for sharing the Philharmonics, it's the 1st time I hear about them, I checked a couple of reviews and it looks they are a gem, though it seems they are more suitable for larger rooms/spaces and for higher volumes, so maybe not for my case: Listening position is around 2.2 meters from speakers, Total room area is 4.7*3.6 meters.
  10. Yup sorry about that, this is the correct link, I can't find an edit button in the original post though: https://europe.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/av_receivers_amps/rx-v471/specs.html BTW, to your questions earlier, no I probably cannot test the speakers at a physical store, as the only decent one I found here (adawliah) only puts a very few ones on display that we can test, so I'll have to rely mostly on reviews and opinions.
  11. Do you think I could replace the AMP you mentioned with my current Yamaha (link above) ? Or there will be a noticeable downgrade in sound quality?
  12. Yes, I'm now working in KSA (Saudi Arabia), we have a decent audio shop here: https://adawliahshop.com/en/product/spl-100-2 I might also be able to bring something from Dubai this month, they have a good store called Dubai audio So I'm mostly limited to these 2 stores currently, they have a decent collection though, esp. the Dubai one. I like your suggestions @DuckToller @Norton The LS50 meta I read many positive and negative reviews on it, so I'm kind of confused, there's also the sonus faber Lumina 2 and the f500sp that I was considering, but not sure how these 3 compare. BTW Nice photos @DuckToller
  13. @DuckToller to your question, ideally, I'm looking to bring whatever I buy with me whenever I return back to my home country (probably in no less than a few years)
  14. Thanks for all the insights. Actually the ones I was considering are the klipsch The sevens or a slightly higher category (below 2000$), and these mostly use class D modules and components AFAIK. Also, I've just relocated to Saudi Arabia (for work), so I'm not sure if there are skilled technicians that can fix sophisticated equipment like active speakers here, so that's kind of an added risk I suppose, as fixing a regular wide-spread amplifier/receiver is probably easier.
  15. Hi @DuckToller Thanks for your reply, I tried to make my post as concise as possible as I know many people tend to skip long reads nowadays; let me answer your questions and add some more details while still making it concise and easy to read. BTW, I'm happy and excited to finally join the forum and hope to stay here for many years, and be a part of this nice community. So the system I have in my home country is: That old Yamaha 5.1 AV + a pair of Klipsch rp-600m speakers The sound quality of this system is not up to my expectations tbh, it doesn't give me enough bass unless I crank up the volume way more than I'd prefer, and the voices/speech are not as clear as I want (esp. in movie dialogues). My initial idea back in the days was to add a new piece to the audio system every few years until it's a full 5.1 system (I had a pair of old kenwood's before the klipsch), but that's a secondary priority, my 1st priority is listening to music in the highest quality I can afford (2 speakers can be enough). TBH, if I'm able to afford a pair of 80,000 USD Wilson speakers, I would buy them right away. Now, I started working abroad and I have bought most of the things I need in my new home, except one piece that's perhaps the most close to my heart, an audio system, currently I have none, only my headphones. My main music sources include: - My 24 bit HQ music collection (Flac, WAV, DSD..etc, around 3 TB) - A collection of non-HQ digital music I've been collecting since the 90's - Spotify (my daily driver) - I might add Tidal or other HQ music streaming service/device after I get the right system. My current budget is around 1300$, and for the right system I can make some adjustments and go up to 2000$. Now, back to the story of my old system back at home, someone can bring me the Yamaha this month while coming to visit, but the speakers would probably be a bit hard to bring, plus I wasn't 100% satisfied with it anyway and wanted to upgrade, so even if I am able to bring the speakers and buy a new amplifier instead of the Yamaha, I don't think it would be a good enough upgrade (correct me if I'm wrong). So, if we eliminate this option (should we?), I'm left with these 2 options: 1- Buy the Fyne Audio F500sp, or a better pair of speakers under 2000$, and use them with the Yamaha (after I get it shipped to my new home) Or 2- Just Buy a pair of new active speakers, like Klipsch the Sevens The active speakers make life easier (logistics-wise) and also offer a DAC, all in a one sealed compatible system, thus the appeal of that option. On the other hand, I suspect I could get a better sounding system by building it on my own for the same cost or less (true?). I'm also considering to add a sub-woofer to the system, if the speakers won't give enough bass (your recommendations needed here as well), I am not looking for a phat bass and I don't listen to hip hop/rnb, and movies are not my priority at all, but I'd like to have a good bass that's subtle and not artificial yet rich and not over the top or phat, while listening to stuff like quality electronic music or rock. And that's where I am right now.
