Article: Great Shelby Lynne Interview On Songcraft

I liked this interview Chris. The older I get the more I value authenticity. I fetl that from her in this interview. -
I agree, the real entity at which our ire should be directed is the label/labels or rights holder likely requiring Qobuz to make this change, or who knows, the alternative may be to lose access to ALL of that labels catalog. Download your purchases immediately, and back them up safely and securely to make this a non issue. This is also a good example of the importance of ownership and having local files versus streaming. An album on your hard drive in a non-drm format is yours forever, ideally. An album on a streaming service is there at the whim of the rights holder and can disappear at any moment.

The meaning of a green CRC code in ddbpoweramp CD Ripper?
AudioDoctor replied to AudioDoctor's topic in Software
I should have done a search, thank you. I did rip song one before realizing I did not have album art, stopping the rip, getting the art, and then starting over. Also after ripping I realized I already own a digital purchase of this album. -

I guess I need to upgrade now. -
Hey, I am ripping a CD that I was given for my Bday months ago and the very first song says it was an accurate rip, the CRC code is green. I have never seen that before? Does anyone know what that means?

I have a small HQPe only server I built that is still on 22.04 server and CUDA, I use Minimserver on my Desktop with JPLAY to provide it files. If Fedora were to wreak havoc on my local files, I still have them on the TrueNAS and in the cloud on Backblaze's servers. I still want to be mindful of it just so I don't have to hassle with rebuilding any pools on my local machine, downgrading a kernel, etc... Fedora works so well on my desktop though, much better than Ubuntu ever did.

After my girls had their friends over to sing along to Taylor Swift albums, a couple of those friends dads have asked about my system. one was at our house for a BBQ, along with his wife and kids, and he and I went and listened to some songs. People who have never heard a good quality playback system before really do have their minds blown when they hear it for the first time.

JPLAY for iOS
AudioDoctor replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in Networking, Networked Audio, and Streaming
A very quick and easy google search would have proven that false. Ah, I see the problem, iPadOS and iOS are separate things. -
It’s only a matter of time before my kids and wife find out!!

Interesting. I know of at least one speaker manufacturer who make their speaker boxes out of bamboo. https://ascendacoustics.com/ and they're nice speakers as well. -
JPLAY for iOS

I look forward to the update. I have already updated to iOS 18. -
I tried installing it with the directions and it really was that easy. They're also packaging Pytorch. edit: I am looking forward to the day you build for Fedora 40 as it it, on my hardware, so much better than Ubuntu was. It's super fast, super stable, bug free, it's just great. and I have to be mindful of my kernel upgrades to maintain compatability between my Kernel and ZFS, so I likely won't be upgrading when Fedora 41 comes out for a while. I was on Kernel 6.9 until a few weeks ago for that reason.

For some reason I am unable to load the feed in a browser and in a podcast app, but I can listen on my iPhone so I guess that's what I am doing. edit 1: I suspect my AdGuard Home, for some reason it's been blocking more mainstream stuff lately and I am really getting pissed about it. edit 2: Spotify works... -
@Miska now that Fedora 40 has packaged Rocm and its easy as sudo dnf install rocm-xxx command, how likely is it we can get a Fedora desktop build with ROCM support? I have my Desktop on Fedora 40 and my opinion is that it's a pretty damn nice OS with the exception of no HQPlayer support yet. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/HC

Are you guys getting any improvements by moving to 24.04? I am seeing so many problems with 24.04 online that I am keeping my perfectly functioning server on 22.04 for now.
-
Miska, how would a person route Spotify to HQP on Fedora?

How To Install HQPlayer Embedded On Ubuntu

I also wouldn't be in such a hurry to upgrade to 24.04.1, if you must do anything do a fresh install. https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2024/09/canonical-halts-ubuntu-24-04-lts-upgrades-again -

The problem could very well be your intel chip, and you would not be alone.
